Matmut Atlantique stadium transaction

We were appointed as the exclusive arranger and provider of debt for the €70 million Herzog & de Meuron-designed Matmut Atlantique stadium transaction.

A key element of this investment’s success was refocusing the stadium’s operations to enhance its financial and strategic viability. Our role involved renegotiating the lease terms with the Municipal Government, structuring and syndicating the financing, and securing an insurance wrapper to strengthen the lease’s financial foundation.

This approach supported the Regional and Municipal Governments in managing the stadium and addressing the club’s financial obligations, including its €28 million debt to the local council. Currently, Bordeaux pays an annual rent of €4.7 million for the Matmut Atlantique stadium.
